IBFed response on GLAC

3 Sep 2014

The International Banking Federation1 (‘IBFed’) welcomes the role the Financial Stability Board (‘FSB’) is playing in coordinating the development of a proposal for Gone-concern Loss Absorbing Capacity (‘GLAC’) ahead of the November G20 Summit. The IBFed supports the objective set by the G20 Leaders of ensuring that systemically important institutions can be resolved in the event of failure without the need for taxpayer support and recognises the role of GLAC in this context. This letter sets out observations on this important topic drawn together from discussion with representatives of member associations and industry participants.
